Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Garner Solutions, LLC ("we", "us") collects when you use American Mahjong (the "Game"), our online services, and this website, and how we use it. We collect only what we need to run the Game, and we do not sell your personal information.

What we collect

Your account

• Your display name and, if you sign in with email, your email address.
• If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Steam: an account identifier from that service (for Steam, your Steam ID), and your name or email if the service shares it.
• Which licenses your account holds and how they were bought.

Purchases

Purchases on this website are processed by our reseller Paddle.com. Paddle collects your payment details and billing address; we do not see or store your full card number. Paddle shares with us what we need to give you your license, such as your email address, country, the order, and its status. For Steam purchases, we receive only confirmation from Steam that your Steam account owns the Game.

Playing the Game

• Your game results and statistics, such as games played, wins, and the card lines you won with, so we can show them on your profile.
• Gameplay analytics, such as which card lines are played and completed, stored without your name, to improve the Game. You can turn this off in the Game's settings.
• Cards and other content you create, so we can save them and show them to the players at your table.

Technical information

Your IP address, device and browser type, sign-in times, and service logs. We use these to keep the Game secure, to fix problems, and to enforce one active session per license.

Voice and video

Voice and video are off until you turn them on, and your device asks for your permission first. Your audio and video travel directly between the players at your table, encrypted, or through a relay server when a direct connection is not possible. We do not record or store them. When a direct connection is used, the other players' devices can see your IP address, as with most online voice calls.

How we use it

• To provide the Game: your account, license checks, online tables, voice and video, saved cards, and your profile and statistics.
• To keep things fair and secure: preventing license sharing and fraud, and enforcing our Terms of Service.
• To support you and to send service messages about your account or purchases. We will only send marketing email if you opt in.
• To improve the Game, using analytics you can turn off.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you (running the Game and your license), our legitimate interests (security, preventing fraud and license sharing, and improving the Game), your consent (camera, microphone, and marketing email), and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

Who we share it with

• Other players see your display name, your seat at the table, your public game actions, and your voice and video if you turn them on.
• Service providers who help us run the Game, under contract: Paddle (payments and tax), Valve (Steam sign-in and ownership checks), Apple and Google (sign-in, if you use them), and our hosting and database providers.
• Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect players, the public, or our rights.

We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Cookies and storage

We use only essential cookies and browser storage: to keep you signed in and to remember your settings. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers on this website. When you check out, Paddle's checkout loads on the page and Paddle's own privacy policy applies to it.

How long we keep it

• Account, license, and profile data: while your account is open.
• Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, usually up to 7 years.
• Service logs: up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate a security issue.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except records we must keep by law.

Your choices and rights

You can see and change your profile in the Game, turn off analytics, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or limit how we use it, and to complain to a data protection authority. California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct their information, and we do not sell or share it. To make a request, email support@americanmahjonggame.com. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Children

The Game's online features are not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where we process data

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States and other countries. When we transfer data from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit, access controls, and by collecting as little as we can. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password or sign in with Apple, Google, or Steam.

Changes

If we change this policy in a significant way, we will tell you in the Game or by email before the change takes effect.
