Terms of Service

These Terms are an agreement between you and Garner Solutions, LLC ("we", "us"), the maker of American Mahjong (the "Game"). They cover the Game on every platform, your American Mahjong account, our online services such as online tables, voice and video, and this website. By buying, installing, or playing the Game you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it, to create an account or play online. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you.

2. Your license

When you buy the Game, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to play it for your own non-commercial entertainment, subject to these Terms. You are buying a license to use the Game, not the Game itself.

One license, one player at a time. Each purchase covers one person. You can play on any supported device, but only one device can be signed in to a license and playing at the same time. If the same license signs in somewhere else, we may end the earlier session or ask the player to confirm before continuing.

You may not sell, rent, lend, share, or transfer your license or account, let other people use them, or use the Game commercially without our written permission.

3. Where you buy

Buying on Steam

Purchases on Steam are made from Valve Corporation under the Steam Subscriber Agreement, and Steam's own refund policy applies. When you sign in to American Mahjong with that Steam account, we confirm with Steam that the account owns the Game, and your license works on our website and apps too.

Buying on this website

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders on this website. Paddle provides customer service for orders and handles returns. Prices are in US dollars unless shown otherwise, and taxes may apply based on where you live. A purchase on this website adds a license to your American Mahjong account.

Adding the Game to Steam

If you bought on this website, you can add the Game to your own Steam library once, at no extra cost. To do this you link a Steam account to your American Mahjong account, and we give you one Steam key. When we give you the key, your license moves to that Steam copy: from then on, your access depends on your linked Steam account owning the Game. Steam keys are for your own use only. If a key is redeemed on a different Steam account, the license goes with it. Each purchase includes one Steam key, ever.

4. Your account

You can sign in with Apple, Google, email, or Steam. Keep your sign-in details secure and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for activity on your account. A Steam account can be linked to only one American Mahjong account; changing the link may require contacting support.

We check that each account holds a valid license. If a purchase is refunded or charged back, or a Steam account stops owning the Game, the related license ends.

5. Online play, voice and video

Online tables run on our servers. Voice and video are optional. When you turn them on, your audio and video go directly to the other players at your table, or through a relay server when a direct connection is not possible. We do not record them. Hosts can turn voice or video off for their table, and you can mute or hide any player.

Please be a good tablemate. You agree not to:

harass, threaten, or abuse other players, or share content that is illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit;
cheat, use bots or modified clients, exploit bugs, or interfere with other players' games;
impersonate others, or collect other players' personal information;
attack, overload, reverse engineer, or bypass the security or license checks of the Game or our services.

We may remove content, end sessions, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. Where the law requires it, and when it is safe to do so, we will tell you why.

6. Cards and content you create

You own the cards and other content you create in the Game. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, copy, and display that content as needed to run the Game, for example to show your card to the other players at your table. Only create content you have the right to use, and do not upload other people's copyrighted cards.

7. Our content

The Game, including its software, artwork, tiles, sounds, and the included game card, belongs to Garner Solutions, LLC or its licensors and is protected by law. American Mahjong is an independent game and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any mahjong league or association. Steam is a trademark of Valve Corporation.

8. Changes and availability

We work to keep the Game and our services running and to improve them. We may update, change, or stop features, and online services may sometimes be unavailable. If we ever permanently shut down online services, we will give reasonable notice where we can.

9. Disclaimers

Except as stated in these Terms and to the extent the law allows, the Game and our services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Garner Solutions, LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim about the Game or our services is limited to the amount you paid for the Game in the 12 months before the claim. These limits do not apply where the law does not allow them.

11. Ending this agreement

You can stop playing and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may end your license or account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms. Sections 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 continue after this agreement ends.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in your local courts.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the Game or by email before it takes effect. If you keep playing after that, you accept the new Terms.
